What does Chevrolet side bicyclist alert do? 

This technology gives you a series of escalating warnings to help prevent a road accident with bikers. You can see a visual representation in the video above, but let’s reiterate exactly what this system does. 

• Turns on an amber light on the vehicle’s exterior side mirror when a biker is detected in the car’s rear blind spot.  
• Flashes the alert icon if your turn signal is turned on while a biker is detected in your blind zone. 
• Sounds a warning chime or pulses a Safety Alert Seat if steering toward a bicyclist in your blind zone is detected. 
• Continues to operate for two minutes after the vehicle is turned off to prevent drivers from opening a door in the path of a bicyclist.
