The 2020 GMC Sierra 2500 AT4 and 3500 AT4 both offer a standard gasoline engine option along with an available turbo diesel engine. Beneath the hoods of both of these models is a 6.6-liter V8 gasoline engine built to deliver 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque on the road. The available 6.6-liter V8 turbo diesel engine generates an astonishing 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque.

How Much Can the 2020 Sierra HD AT4 Tow?

When equipped with the gasoline V8 engine, the 2020 Sierra 2500 AT4 offers a maximum payload capacity of 3,760 pounds in 4WD crew cab standard box models and 3,862 pounds in 4WD crew cab long box models, and a conventional hitch towing limit of 14,500 pounds. Diesel-powered Sierra 2500 AT4 models offer an 18,500-pound maximum hitch towing limit and 3,563 pounds of payload in 4WD crew cab standard box models and 3,597 pounds of payload in 4WD crew cab long box models.

The diesel-powered Sierra 3500 AT4 can tow up to 20,000 pounds and offers a maximum payload capacity of 4,185 pounds in 4WD crew cab standard box models and 4,078 pounds in 4WD crew cab long box SRW models. Gasoline-powered Sierra 3500 AT4 models can also tow up to 20,000 pounds with a maximum payload limit of 4,185 pounds in 4WD crew cab standard box models and a limit of 4,078 pounds in 4WD crew cab long box SRW models.
