2018 GMC Terrain

The 2018 GMC Terrain continues to sharpen GMC’s competitive edge in the SUV market as a smaller, more affordable option within the GMC vehicle lineup. The new design reflects the model’s luxurious standard, which was established in 2010 when it rolled onto car dealerships across the country.

The SUV comes in an array of colors, including premium selections, which are available at an additional cost. The upscale features continue as you move into the vehicle’s interior, where you can select from three color palettes, accented with real aluminum trim. And if you want to make your drive even more comfortable and stylish, leather-appointed front seats are available upon request.

The Terrain provides a smooth handling experience while making sure you’re looking good on the highway. This SUV comes in both front-wheel and all-wheel drivetrains. The SL, which is only available with the FWD, is the exception. In addition, GMC has equipped the Terrain with a state-of-the-art Traction Selection System, which allows you to easily switch between driving modes to make necessary adjustments to road surfaces. The system gives you the confidence that in any given situation you encounter, you have the capability at your fingertips to safely navigate and maneuver your way through it.

If you’re a tech person, you will be impressed with the Terrain’s many features. For safety and convenience, this SUV offers keyless entry. This benefit eliminates the need to keep up with your keys and offers you the peace of mind of having your vehicle ready to drive when you get into it.

The Terrain comes standard with USB ports for data exchange as well as charging, making it easy to transition from one place to another with your USB-enabled devices.

The Terrain also packs the power. There are three turbocharged engines available, depending on the trim level selected. Two are gas-powered, and one is diesel-powered. No matter which one you choose, the Terrain will satisfy your need to make a powerful statement when you’re driving.

StabiliTrak comes standard on each trim level. This system provides electronic steering assistance to ensure the vehicle remains stable, especially on dangerous surfaces and in emergency situations. The system is designed to make small adjustments, including administering braking procedures, when it determines they are necessary to maintain safe driving conditions.

And if you need to tow anything, GMC provides assurance you can get the job done. Depending on the option selected, the Terrain has a maximum towing capacity of 1,500 to 3,500 pounds. With these features and others, it’s easy to see why you won’t need to question the Terrain’s capability.

New GMC Terrain Technology

Technology

If technology is the primary selling point when you’re looking for a vehicle, the GMC Terrain will win you over. The Terrain features a Rearview Camera System, providing you with assistance if you’re parallel parking, backing out of a driveway, or teaching your teenager how to drive.

The SUV also offers an available built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. So whether you need to connect to the internet for work or entertainment or the kids want to access social media, you have continuous access to Wi-Fi.

GMC didn’t overlook the popularity of smartphone use either. The Terrain has AppleCar Play and Android Auto compatibility, allowing you to easily navigate through their smartphone apps as if you were physically using your cell phone. Apps and other features are conveniently projected or displayed on the vehicle’s eight-inch-diagonal GMC Infotainment System.

The GMC Terrain provides an added sense of security with what could be referred to as a mobile technician. The Driver Information Center (DIC) consistently monitors the SUV’s systems and is equipped with a warning system. The warning system is designed to alert you if any concerns arise.

The need to worry about how your vehicle is performing is eliminated. You have assurance knowing that GMC technology has got you covered.

New GMC Terrain Design

Car Icon

Design

The beauty of the GMC Terrain begins with its design. GMC continues to highlight the SUV’s signature grille, which is a concept that has set it apart since it first rolled off the assembly line.

Each of the trim levels (SL, SLE, SLT, SLE Diesel, SLT Diesel, and Denali), comes with its own customized grille.

On either side of the grille are C-shaped headlights, boasting high-intensity discharge lamps. HID technology provides enhanced visibility in dark and foggy situations. The C-shaped design is also used in the SUV’s tail lights.

As part of the 2018 redesign, GMC introduced the Electronic Precision Shift. The EPS is a switch-based transmission system. The system is conveniently positioned in the same area of the vehicle’s console where other switch-based technology is located. This affords drivers the use of cabin space that standard gear-shift technology typically occupies.

And speaking of space, if you require extra room for your luggage or other items you need to transport, the GMC Terrain offers the Front-to-Back Flat Load Floor concept. This feature allows all the seats, including the front-passenger seat to fold flat, allowing items to be placed on top of them.
