2018 Buick LaCrosse

The 2018 Buick Lacrosse is now Buick’s only sedan, and it’s a full-size sedan as well, but this is a far cry from your grandma’s big old Buick hooptie boat that she used to tear up the town with. The modern Buick sedan is what Buick calls, “A modern take on timeless elegance.” The sleek modern style is highlighted by Buick’s beautifully sculpted lines and brilliant architecture. The perfect proportions flow seamlessly together for a look that’s both classic and progressive.

The stars of the show this year are the LED highlighted taillamps, the new HID (High-Intensity Discharge) xenon headlights that also have bright LED daytime running lamps that bring the perfect amount of power and intensity. The wheels also turn potential buyers’ heads as well, whether it be the standard 18” aluminum alloy wheels which are cool enough on their own, but you can also upgrade to the 20”, 10-spoke aluminum alloy wheels for another layer of luxury and class. The panoramic moonroof is also a showstopper, as it provides a glorious view of the open sky on a beautiful day.

Connectivity

The Buick Infotainment System is state of the art technology at your fingertips. Make hands free calls, play music using either Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, all using a voice-activated technology, or a convenient 8” diagonal hi-resolution full-color touchscreen. Use real-time maps and get driving directions with the optional built-in navigation system, which makes sure you’re always heading in the right direction. There are three different connectivity packages that you can add to your LaCrosse. Connected Access gives you 10 years of standard connectivity, featuring Buick Smart Driver and Vehicle Diagnostics. Add Either the Remote Access Package or the Unlimited Access Package to receive many additional features, like Remote Vehicle Start and unlimited 4G LTE WiFi data. The Remote Access Package also allows you access to Buick’s Marketplace, which allows users to book seats in busy restaurants, get movie passes before they sell out, order coffee or food to-go, and have it delivered to their car when they pull up and pay for gas at Shell stations without ever leaving the vehicle.

New Buick LaCrosse Performance

Performance

The 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with eAssist adds a touch of electrification to save you money on gas and makes this full-size sedan surprisingly fuel efficient. If that’s not enough power for you, you can always upgrade to the 3.6-liter V6, which is still quite efficient due to its active fuel management system and 9-speed automatic transmission. The dynamic drive package beefs up the wheels from the 18” standard size to 20” aluminum alloy wheels, as well as front HiPer strut suspension and the additional sport mode functionality. The standard 5-link rear suspension keeps the cabin quiet during loud driving situations and makes handling smooth and fluid. If you’re the type of driver that requires exceptional traction and performance during acceleration, no matter what the weather is like, upgrade to the all-wheel-drive version with an active twin-clutch technology.

New Buick LaCrosse Safety

Safety

When purchasing a new car, there is a long list of important things to consider when researching which car fits your needs as well as your budget. When you’re making your list, safety should be at the very top, as there is nothing more important than your life and the life (and safety) of your family. The 2018 Buick Lacrosse should meet (and exceed) your safety requirements, as it was awarded a five-star overall vehicle score from the NHTSA. The 2017 model was a top safety pick and received the second highest honor, rated good (the highest rating) on all crash evaluations and rated superior in front crash prevention and only missed the superior plus ranking because of a lackluster score in headlights (poor). The 2018 version has all new HID headlamps which are sure to improve that score.

The two optional driver confidence packages include a full suite of safety features that set the Lacrosse apart from the competition. Each package comes with multiple features that make the Lacrosse one of the safest vehicles on the road. Get both packages for the ultimate safety-first sedan. When you survive near-death situations on the road because your car is equipped with all the best safety technology, you will know that there is no price too great to get the peace of mind that Buick provides. The confidence packages add rear-cross traffic alert, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, a blind spot and lane change warning system, a following distance indicator which lets you know when someone is tailgating you, adaptive cruise control, automatic braking, assistance, automatic park assistance and more. Rear parking sensors, safety seat alert, and a rearview camera come standard.
