What’s new on the 2021 Chevy Silverado?

For 2021, Chevy has added a variety of new elements to the Silverado 1500. One of the most exciting is the newly available Multi-Flex tailgate. This innovative feature can open and fold in a total of six different ways.

Additionally, incarnations of the 2021 Chevy Silverado outfitted with the diesel six-cylinder or turbocharged four-cylinder engines now have improved tow ratings. Models with the former option can now reach a grand total of 9,500 pounds, while the latter can “pull off” a jot more at 9,600.

To make towing as a whole a more seamless experience, the 2021 Chevy Silverado also gets blessed with a host of new trailer-assistance features. These delightful gizmos include a jack-knife alert (that alerts drivers to jack-knifing), a trailer-length indicator (that helps the driver change lanes safely when towing), and a cargo-bed viewer (which makes it easier to hook up a fifth-wheel trailer).

Other new elements on the 2021 Silverado include the inclusion of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, adaptive dampers that can be added to the High Country trim, and additional paint colors. There are also new special edition packages on hand that buyers can opt for.
